Project Update: September 2014 – Analysis & restoration of seismic cutlines

September 2014:

Meghan and Amanda were busy all summer travelling between the camp at Two Lakes, Kakwa Camp and Grande Cache. Apart from collecting a lot of data to help us understand how caribou, humans and predators respond to vegetation height along seismic lines they had one uneventful encounter with a grizzly bear and cub, and a surprising run in with the wild horses near Two Lakes. Meghan finished working on this project in late August – she took a short break to successfully defend her M.Sc. thesis (congrats!) before starting work on the MPB project, as well as doing some work on a collaborative project with FGYA and the GBP.
