About
From growing up outdoors in the Kootenay region of B.C. to obtaining a M.Sc. degree in “Wildlife, Ecology, and Biodiversity” at the University of Freiburg, Germany, Isobel has developed a strong passion for nature and its protection. Isobel first collaborated with fRI Research in 2016 for her Master’s thesis where she examined grizzly bear use of riparian zones and the ecological implications for forest management. Upon completion of her work, Isobel published her research in the peer-reviewed journal Forest Ecology and Management. Now as a contributing scientist at fRI, Isobel strives to apply ecological research to forest management and wildlife conservation. When away from the field or office, Isobel spends her time adventuring, rock climbing up mountains, and slacklining over canyons.
