The summer field season has drawn to a close and the fRI Research Caribou Program is sad to say goodbye to some of our simply phenomenal field crew that worked with us over the summer – Aimee, Amanda, Brianne, Christine, Jen, Jillian, Kaitlyn and Sean. Gen, Marlene, Adam and Becky are staying on into the fall to carry on with Mountain Pine Beetle surveys – hopefully the snow will hold off long enough to get another month of data.
Below is the final update from the Kakwa crew, in their own words.

Ten things we learned this summer:
- When standing on a wasp nest, run.
- Shaving is overrated.
- Hygiene is overrated.
- The world is your bathroom.
- When life gives you blueberries, you eat them.
- No one will ever achieve Amanda’s marshmallow roasting skill level.
- Skunk currant berries do in fact taste like skunk.
- The best time to test different accents is on the radio.
- Rain is conceived in Two Lakes.
- fRI Research, the Caribou program, and all people involved are awesome.
