This brochure was created by the Grizzly Bear Program for West Fraser and Weyerhaeuser to provide their workers with information about bear den timing, location, and common site characteristics. The goal is to prevent workers from disturbing dens during the winter in order to keep bears and people safe.
Karen Graham brought together decades of our research, in particular, Dr. Pigeon’s PhD work on grizzly bear denning. It accompanies a report and a presentation.
