The Healthy Landscapes Program has been on the leading edge of EBM thinking for 25+ years regarding concepts, research, and tools. We have hosted several large events over the years to share findings and offer an opportunity to discuss their relevance to policy and practice, but we have not hosted such an event since COVID. Moreover, over the last five years we have begun to shift towards more of an emphasis on partnerships, dialogue, and shared understanding.
The Healthy Landscapes Program is also on the threshold of change as a new Program Leader is scheduled to replace Dave Andison in 2026. The timing is ideal for the Healthy Landscapes Program to host an event that is a cross between a symposium (presenting years of Healthy Landscapes and other related EBM/NRV results) with opportunity for dialogue and networking. This session will focus on leveraging opportunities to apply EBM research on the landscape relevant to EBM and forest resource management today.
This event is for EBM practitioners at all levels of experience. For those who are “all in” and looking to enhance or get the most from their current EBM efforts to those that are brand new to the practice, this event will have something for everyone. When it comes to EBM, no one is an island, we are all connected as part of a large complex system.
Purpose
- To engage in a retrospective of the Healthy Landscapes Program research and learning outputs relevant to forest resource management today.
- Hosting a gathering of EBM practitioners to facilitate connection as a community of learners, share knowledge and experiences in applying EBM on the landscape.
- In looking back to look forward, we may see what is possible for future work of Healthy Landscapes Program.
