Alberta grizzlies getting fatter, more fertile due to global warming, study says

Research from the University of Alberta’s Department of Renewable Resources and the Foothills Research Institute’s Grizzly Bear Program indicates that climate change is allowing grizzly bears in some parts of the foothills easier access to food. This enables the bears to build more body fat, which improves the fertility of females. As explained in this National Post article, although the bears in these areas are more productive, they have higher mortality rates because of their proximity to development.
