The 2011 Get to Know International Unconference is designed to collaboratively address the growing disconnect between youth and the natural world. The Unconference aims to unite stakeholders from government, NGOs, and private sectors across North America in a creative, cooperative effort to reconnect youth with their natural heritage. This event will take place on October 20-23, 2011, in Jasper National Park at the Palisades Stewardship Education Centre and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
Youth involvement will be a key part of this year’s Unconference, which will include an integrated youth forum consisting of delegates ages 13 to 21. Youth delegates will bring valuable insight and a first-hand youth perspective on effective strategies; enabling them to meaningfully participate in developing a plan for engaging their peers.
