Project updates: June 2014 – Field work

Image of a cutline through an evergreen forest in the wintertime.

We have now moved into phase two of this project, which involves:

  • seismic line assessments within the range of Redrock and Narraway caribou ranges
  • building upon analysis carried out last year to determine which seismic lines should be priorities for restoration

Field update:  Our field crew – Meghan and Amanda – have been busy in June visiting seismic lines within the range of the Redrock caribou herd. During their first shift an unexpected snowstorm buried their plots but the temperatures warmed up by shift two and now the bugs are out in force.

In July they will move onto assessments within the range of the Narraway caribou, and they will continue working in the range of these two herds until the end of August.
