We completed our first season of fecal surveys early this month. With help from Steve Wotton of Peregrine helicopters, Laura, Sarah and Karine visited sites across the Redrock Prairie Creek and Narraway caribou ranges and landed where cratering signs were seen (when caribou dig in the snow to feed on lichens) to collect frozen pellets. These fecal pellets will be used to assess the health of caribou across the ranges of these populations.
