Members of FRI’s GBP research team travelled to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in July for the International Conference on Bear Research & Management organized by the International Association for Bear Research and Management (IBA). FRI’s GBP was well represented with three presentations, and six posters. Program Lead, Gord Stenhouse also chaired a plenary session on Collaborative Projects in Bear Studies.

The IBA is a non-profit organization with over 550 members from over 50 countries. It supports the scientific management of bears through research and distribution of information with the goal to promote the conservation and restoration of the world’s bears through science-based research, management, and education.
