Classification and Analysis of Agricultural Land as Grizzly Bear Habitat
A Master’s research project to learn about how grizzly bears are using agricultural lands for habitat.
Habitat loss and human-caused mortality are the most serious threats facing grizzly bears in Alberta. Human-bear conflict in agricultural lands is especially important. This project will determine the best classificaiton for agricultural and herbaceous land cover for the purpose of grizzly bear habitat mapping.
The study area is in south western Alberta. This is a Master’s research project by Adam Callingwood in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan.
