In March 2013 the fRI caribou program lead was lucky to help with the annual population survey conducted by Alberta Environment & Sustainable Resource Development. Laura Finnegan flew with Dave Hobson and Peregrine Helicopters over northern Jasper National Park and the Willmore Wilderness helping to assess the size and recruitment rate of the A La Peche mountain population.
Flying in the mountains after a huge snowfall the scenery was spectacular and tracks were easy to spot from the air. Below are some shots from the flight.
