2024 was the second campaign of the Grizzly Bear Monitoring Project, which is continuing our non-invasive monitoring of bear populations with an emphasis on efficiency and refining our methods. The main way we do this is by collecting grizzly bear hair, which gives us DNA sequences and hormone levels. (Find more information here.) While we’re at it, we set up trail cameras at each hair snag site and we’re excited to share some of our favourite footage in an interactive StoryMap.
