Alberta’s native trout and their habitats are threatened by increased human activity, and other factors like disease, invasive species, and a changing climate. In response, the Government of Alberta, fRI Research, Trout Unlimited Canada, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, the Alberta Conservation Association, and Cows and Fish are working together on the Alberta Native Trout Collaboration.

One of the efforts in the collaboration is our stream temperature monitoring project. Water and Fish Program Lead Dr. Ben Kissinger recently wrote a blog post for their site explaining the work being done and what’s next.
